Recently, I found some cute Pyrex and Fire-King at my local thrift shops.
I love the practicality and durability of these dishes, but it's always fun to notice that simple baking dishes have been dressed up with designs. Let's make cooking pretty and fun! A great way for a cook to get through the monotony of everyday meal preparation.
When I first saw the yellow dish on the bottom there, I thought it had cooking residue buildup until I looked it up online and saw that it is supposed to have a brownish speckle finish.
I like the divided dish above. How handy! You don't have to mix your peas and carrots!
Until I browsed the internet to find out more about these items, I had no idea there were so many different styles and patterns! I don't have the room to keep on collecting them, but I enjoy what I have and plan to use them for cooking.

Yours is beautiful...I really like the patterns, but the yellow speckeled might be my favorite.. I always want every piece that I see.
Happy VTT..have a lovely weekend.
I am like CC--I too want every piece I see (but don't have room). These are great pieces. I've never seen the painted ones like the first pic. I've been wanting a divided dish for some time but every time I see one at a thrift store, I somehow talk myself out of it. Now I want one again! :)
Pyrex is wonderuf. I really like those red ones.

You cannot beat good old Pyrex dishes. They will endure and last a lot longer than some of the facny stuff. Nice post for toay.
Beautiful pieces and a great picture!
Oh my gosh!My mom had that divided dish and she used it for PEAS AND CARROTS! How funny!

Great Pyrex! I have a huge collection - I don't really have room for it either but I just love it. And I figure, since I use it - at least it's a useful collection!

The red ones are beautiful and I have never seen the design of the top dishes. Great finds.
Wow...that first set is amazing!!! Loved that! I tend to see pieces around here but lately, the prices are a bit steep. Thank you for the card, very sweet of you!! Have a great VTT!
The ones in that second pic are my favorite! Very cute. I am starting a Mclinky party Favorite Things Friday the 19th and would love you to come join in if you are interested! Thanks for the comment on my blog!
Hi, Great pyrex dishes. They are so pretty and very practical, especially with microwaves. I like the wheat set the best.
I love vintage pyrex dishes. I have never seen the pear pattern on the first photo before. It's lovely! I will be on the look out for it now.
Happy VTT!

Sue,
Those casserole dishes are beautiful. I especially like the deep red ones.
It sure is great to have vintage cooking ware, I like all the different patterns from throughout the years...makes it so much more interesting than having all new stuff!! Peace, Stephanie
I love the divided dish, you could put plain M&M's on one side, and peanut M&M's on the other side!
