Found some curtains I liked at WalMart, of all places.
(Sorry, I guess I can be a bit snobbish about my home decor.)
To be fair, though, their Better Homes & Gardens collection of housewares has some nice things.
I liked the fabrics, but. . . printed rickrack?? ick, I don't think so.
So I went about cutting that section out and inserting some yellow piping.
My grandma bought me a package of piping for this project in the 60s, or thereabouts. I have a hodgepodge of trims from both of my grandmothers. I can't tell you how many times I have found just what I need in one of those boxes.
Thanks Grandma!
Much better without that printed rickrack.
Fresh and pretty just in time for apple season!

Way to go!!! Great solution to the icky printed problem!!!
Oh, those curtains are SO, SO cute! I love your remodel. That piping is perfect and it was so thoughtful of your grandma to get it for you!

Pretty cute! That is a good fix, and they'll be perfect for the fall-or year 'round for us apple lovers!
Very cute!
They're adorable! So pretty and fresh looking. I love those enameled colanders too, btw.
I've got some of those hand-me-down trims too, and I've bought others at thrift stores, etc. at 10 cents a pack. You're right, they do seem to come in handy at just the right time.
I love your remake! So bright and cheerful.
Oh, this is so cute! I love how you have made the curtains look even nicer.
Thanks for visiting me, and leaving the kind comment on my quilting. :)
Hi Sue,
Will you be at the Quilt Expo?
